Schengen Quo Vadis? Conference in Brussels

Organisation of this event rests with the Research Centre Immigration & Asylum Law together with the Odysseus Academic Network and several partner universities. ‘Schengen’ is often celebrated as a major achievement of the European project but is simultaneously considered as a source of crisis and controversies, for instance regarding human rights compliance at the external borders. The conference will introduce participants (policy makers, officials, NGO representatives, academics, lawyers, judges, border guards, PhD students, researchers, etc.) to the state-of-the-art regarding the Schengen area from a theoretical but also practical point of view. Speakers come from academia and practice. Videos of the presentations can be found online on the Odysseus website.
