Migration Policy Forum (MPF)

The „Migration Policy Forum” (MPF) serves as a platform for the in-depth discussion between academia, politics and practitioners on questions of German, European and international immigration, asylum and citizenship law.

Alongside Members of Parliament and ministry officials, judges, academics and non-governmental organisations have an impact on the content of the legal development of migration politics. The set-up of the MPF offers these different stakeholders a framework for discussion beyond the constraints of their professional day-to-day business.

In an informal atmosphere high-ranking speakers present their perspectives on current questions of legal and political concern and discuss their views with all participating guests. The MPF acts as a catalyst for legal and political debates, facilitates personal contact and the emergence of networks between the participating stakeholders. In this way, the MPF contributes to a balanced and well-informed development of migration law and policy.

The events are financially supported by the Robert-Bosch-Stiftung and take place every six months in Berlin, where many practitioners are located. Details of past and future events are can be found under “Events“.
